Are You Wearing Your Barakah Goggles? 🥽
Assalamu'alaikum,
Have you seen those videos of people walking around with VR headsets, acting in strange ways? These headsets are meant to help us enter a new virtual world and see things differently.
This made me wonder: what if we had a special VR tool that would help us see Barakah all around us? 🤔
One of the fascinating things about life is that two people can go through the exact same experience, yet one person will see the goodness and khair in the situation while the other will only see misery and evil. Sometimes, it's even the same person who simply changes their perspective from complaining to being grateful.
I'm bringing this up to remind us all that we need to wear our "Barakah Goggles" at all times. These special goggles have unique features:
They don't just see events at hand, but recognize the Causer of these events - Allah SWT - knowing that all good comes from Him.
They don't view this world as permanent, but sees the implications of our actions and reactions in the hereafter.
They don't label things as simply "good" or "bad," but see tests and trials as opportunities to emulate the Prophet's character in dealing with these tests.
The Barakah Goggles may be an imaginary tool but its what we metaphorically need to wear if we want to experience Barakah in our lives.
Often, when I give workshops on the Barakah Effect, I ask the audience at the beginning if they've experienced Barakah recently. Few hands go up. But after explaining what Barakah means and the different ways we experience it, almost everyone raises their hand when I ask again.
This shows that it's not that people don't have Barakah in their time, wealth, or children; it's that they're not noticing the Barakah that surround them.
So, I challenge you: Put on your Barakah Goggles today. What Barakah can you see that you might have overlooked before?
Sincerely,
