Assalamu'alaikum,
I was at my desk, trying to work on my Barakah Effect book, but the words wouldn't come.
An overwhelming lethargy gripped me—a heaviness I'd never experienced before, making it impossible to type even a few words.
Strangely, when I got up to do something else—check my phone or tackle any other task—I was suddenly full of energy. But the moment I returned to my desk to write, that crushing laziness descended again with a vengeance.
This wasn't ordinary writer's block (I know what that feels like). I recognized this heaviness as an attack by Shaytaan (the Devil), attempting to prevent me from writing something meaningful.
You might think I'm being dramatic or that I'm just trying to shift blame for my laziness. But trust me, this was unlike anything I'd ever faced.
I got up to renew my wudhu, prayed, and found myself earnestly begging Allah for help. In that moment, the true meaning of seeking refuge in Allah from Shaytaan's influence became crystal clear to me.
After prayer, a new sensation washed over me. I felt as if I were about to enter a battlefield, now charged up and shielded by wudhu and salah—ready for the fight.
With a heartfelt bismillah, I wrote one word, then a sentence, then a paragraph. Before I knew it, I'd completed my day's writing. It was one of the most profound spiritual writing experiences I've ever had.
I'm sharing this to illustrate that writing isn't merely an intellectual exercise—it's a deeply spiritual one. And I want to equip you with the spiritual, intellectual, and practical tools to write your next book through our upcoming book writing program.
If you have a book in your heart but can't seem to start, join us. There's immense power in writing as a community—you'll have more strength and energy to overcome Shaytaan's influence than if you were writing alone.
Bismillah—let's take up our weapons (our pens) and write as we confront our greatest enemy.
Sincerely,
